Mahamritunjaya Mantra          

Meaning
We pray to the three eyed and immensely generous Lord Shiva, As the Cucumber in its ripen stage automatically leaves the branch and get freed form the bindings of branches without pain of plucking, In the same way we also be freed from pains and pleasure by the blessings of lord Shiva from this worldly material branches of transmigration (which produces the fruits of  pleasues and pains) and be liberated (from all pains and pleasures)

Meaning of Terms
ॐ =   The Symbol of ultimate Reality                                                                  
त्र्यंबकं = Three Eyed = Lord Shiva
यजामहे = We Pray, worship to         
सुगन्धिं पुष्टिवर्धनम् = the lord who maintains and flourishes the World for
उर्वारूकमिव बन्धनात् = freeing like the cucumber from the branch of tree
मृत्योर्मुक्षीय मामृतात् = From the death to the liberation and immortality.
